Tall, rectangular taupe columns rise like towers on either side of an ivory field, flanking a central abstract figure topped with a small crown-like motif worked in orange and blue zigzag lines. Near the top corners, two small lightning-bolt marks add further pictorial detail, while a black and white checkerboard border runs along the base of the rug, grounding the composition with a graphic, structured finish.

This kind of figurative storytelling sets Mitahi apart from the more abstract, pattern-based pieces found elsewhere in Beni Ourain weaving. Rather than a repeating motif or geometric field, Mitahi reads almost like a scene — towers, a central figure, symbols above, and a defined border beneath — giving the rug a genuinely narrative, almost pictographic quality.

Towers and Figure: A Composed Scene

The two tall taupe columns flanking Mitahi's central figure give the composition real architectural structure, almost like gateposts framing the figure between them. This arrangement, rare within Beni Ourain weaving, gives Mitahi a sense of place and narrative that more purely geometric or textural pieces don't carry.

The Checkerboard Border: A Structured Finish

Along the base of Mitahi, a row of small black and white checkerboard squares provides a clean, graphic counterpoint to the pictorial scene above.
