From Beni m’rirt a small town in khenifra, in the middle atlas; the luxurious rug, made with the best quality of sheep wool and produced with a lot of skill, Mrirt rugs are made, they are called also the NOBLE RUGS, are particularly densely knotted with double knots and made from exceptional wool quality, as the sheep in this region are particular, Mrirt rugs continue to seduce interior designers and fine connoisseurs by their extremely warm, soft and long piles.
The Berber women pack the wool on the vertical loom using a metal comb, which results in a fine and silky texture of the wool that just feels heavenly on the foot, the Mrirt rugs are the most expensive due to the high quality and the quantity of the wool we use.
Mrirt rug is a family tradition, it's made by weavers at home and cleaned by her husband outdoors, he clean the rug 4 times before hanging it under the sun to dry which can take 4 weeks during winter.
