Where most Boujad rugs are dense, multi-motif compositions, Lahca uses negative space as its primary design tool. The composition has two acts. In the upper two-thirds, two symmetrical orange lightning bolt zigzag columns descend from the top edge, flanked by dark charcoal grey outlines that deepen their drama. Between them, at the very top, soft grey and blush-pink triangular forms create a gentle transitional zone — almost like a mountain horizon. The orange columns converge and then separate, creating a V-shape gateway into the lower field. Act two is the lower third: here the composition opens dramatically into large, freeform abstract shapes. A bold hot-pink form dominates the centre-right; slate-blue grey masses anchor both lower corners; an irregular black blob punctuates the lower-left with raw energy; and a warm golden-yellow accent at the lower centre provides the final note of warmth.
